Bus / Life Learning Week Five

Monday 2nd June 2014
Mum read a book to Miss Personality.
Rainbow Magic - Roxie and the Baking Fairy by Daisy Meadows.

We are having tantrum city at the moment.
Miss Personality has an answer for everything, and to help out sometimes causes so much grunting and groaning. Seems to want to argue for attention, which I don't understand, as being an only child and home schooling. She gets my one on one attention all day everyday.
She then asks for hugs after we have had a arguement and it just makes it really hard to want to give to her in that way.
I feel emotionally empty more days than not.
After everyone has calmed down, we do talk about things often.
Which is a good thing for us both.

Miss Personality did a number crunch puzzle out of the newspaper.

Miss Personality used the montessori inspired single red beads.
She wanted to put them into gourps of 100, but didn't want to count them out, one by one.
So she counted them into little cups, into groups of 20, then counted them all together, transferring them into one big bowl. Skip counting in 20's. Total = 217

Miss Personality put her crazy straw in a bottle of water. Then explained to me how the gravity was making the water come out of the straw at the other end. I mentioned to her that is may also have some thing to do with air pressure helping the water to come through the straw too.

Game of battleship.

We went and visited some friends of our that we have not seen since before we went to Australia.
Miss Personality has known their oldest daughter since she was 2 1/2 years.
It was great for all of us to get a chance to catch up.

Miss Personality then went and played with the caretakers son  and daughter around the camping grounds, until dinner time.

Watched an episode of Scrapheap Challenge (DVD).
They made a hockey puck type contraption that 4 people could ride on across the ice, like a pinball machine, out of scraps from a junk yard.

Tuesday 3rd June 2014

Mum pulled out a whole pile of resources so that Miss Personality could choose what she wants to do.

Miss Personality showed me a page in a book called I Wonder Why - Castles had moats and other questions about long ago by Philip Steele.

It had roman, hindi, modern, arabic, medieval european and modern numerals.

She recognised the roman numerals.

She is flicking through her book Ripley's Believe It or Not - 2011.

Showing me things of interest - camouflage caterpillar, goats who can climb steep hills, dogs painted to look like panda & a tiger, cow struck by lightning and lived, a lion opening a car door by itself.

Miss Personality folded the corner on pages in her book 101 Cool Science Experiment by Hinkler Books.

Experiments she would like to do. Volcano, put out a lighted candle in a jor, grow a stalactite, bouncy egg, pen cap submarine.

Then Miss Personality did the Spot What Book by Nick Bryant & Rowan Summers.

Then making pictures using Tap Tap Art while watching Little House on the Prairie Season One.

Wednesday 4th June 2014

Reading instructions for -  Make Your Own Lipgloss kit.

Following the instructions, step by step, measuring and mixing as she goes along.

Wanted to know what the word 'consistency' meant.

She made a pink and purple lip gloss.

Cleaning up her tools once she was finished.

Miss Personality helped find the things we needed at the supermarket.

She then found a lady who works around the camping grounds .

She went off and helped her clean up around the camping grounds.

Miss Personality made a pyramid out of lego.

Caretakers son came and knocked on the door of our bus, looking for Miss Personality.

They climb trees, make huts and swing and play.

Thursday 5th June 2014

Introduced Miss Personality to the movie (DVD) Twilight.

Paused button got used a lot as Miss Personality had plenty of questions to ask :)

Went grocery shopping.

Miss Personality pushed the trolley around and then put everything on the check out counter.

She made her own lunch.

We had a talk about puberty and some changes she is starting to experience.

Watched movie (DVD) New Moon.

Pause button got used a lot, as Miss Personality asked plenty of questions :)

Went to hair dressing school called Hair To Train.

Mum got a free haircut.

While we were their, one of the students asked Miss Personality would like her hair done up.

Of course she did.

Miss Personality played minecraft on the ipad while her hair was getting played with.

Then she got to have her hair washed at the special hand basin.

First time she has ever had an experience at the hair dressers.

When we got home Miss Personality went off and played with caretakers son at the camping grounds.

Watched an episode of Scrapheap Challenge.

Rock Crawler - Teams have to create a vehicle that can climb a rock hill.

Flying Machine - teams have to make a flying machine that can carry one team member.

Friday 6th June 2014

Watched the rest of the movie (DVD) 

Then watched Eclipse, Breaking Dawn Part 1. (DVD)

She removed nail polish remove her to remove old nail polish.

Then she repainted them.

Went off to play with caretakers son, after he had finished school.

Might get Miss Personality's ears checked again.

She has had grommets in the past.

But have noticed she seems to have issues with hearing.

Just not sure if she is choosing not to listen or whether it is something else.
